I came across this today and thought it was amazing. It was created by Candy Chang in New Orleans. It is such a simple idea yet has such an impact.I would love to do this one day!

Love is in the air!

This past weekend was quite an eventful one. On Friday i went to my aunts 50th and then on Saturday my friend Kerryn's wedding. I posted her save the date a couple of weeks back. What a beautiful wedding. Every little detail was amazing. The wedding was held at Toadbury Hall in Muldersdrift. Sadly photos don't do it any justice but here's a little taste of the wedding. Hopefully ill be able to get my hands on some more pics later on. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Special Wine Labels

It was my aunt's 50th on wednesday and i was asked to design a wine label to just add a little bit of a special touch. Even though i did it in a rush, they actually turned out pretty good. The photos don't do it justice but hey. Take note of the caution on the back label of the bottle. Got to love it!

Old treasures

I'm proud to say that i have a great gran who is nearly 101. I know it's pretty crazy to think that someone can live for that long. Sadly she isn't doing to well at the moment. While my mom was clearing stuff out of her flat she came across a whole bunch of photo's. Wow! that's all i can say. For me there's nothing better than looking at old pics. I thought i'd share some of them. They inspiring i tell you!

Friday's Bake day

Last Friday for my weekly baking day i decided to bake spring cupcakes. They basically multicoloured vanilla cupcakes. They tasted pretty good.Love the fact that just adding a bit of food colouring can create so much more excitement. I basically did my basic vanilla mix and then separated the mix into 4 different bowls adding 4 different food colouring to each. Definitely suggest you try it sometime... a lot of fun i tell you. nom nom :-) 

Monday morning suprise!

So this morning i got a little gift from my sister poo poo head. She went to the Rosebank flea market and came across these biscuits called beautiful biscuits. Apparently they make all different shapes, sizes and colours. She bought me this packet of heart ones. The look amazing and best of all they really delish.

How i wish i was an illustrator. I try but not hard enough so need to definatley start doodling a bit more. I came across this illustrator Anke Weckmann during my studies. She's a freelance illustrator who is based in London. Really awesome stuff. Take a look and get inspired :-)

Friday's Bake day

So i havn't posted anything for almost 2 weeks which is just shocking really. And i did tell myself that every Thursday i was gonna bake and bring it to everyone at work on friday. I have done it for the past 2 weeks but let me tell you it's not easy. I'm definately not the baker i thought i was ;-) But I just thought I'm gonna keep on trying- poor people at work. I have baked the past 2 weeks but the  first week my pics didnt come out great. Let me just tell you that i baked Vanilla cupcakes with nuttela buttercream icing. Honestly sounds better than it was but apparently they were good. Last week i then decided to bake snicker brownies. They weren't bad except the fact that i left them in a bit to long so they were a tad hard, so if you follow the recipe found on joybaker.com leave it in for the exact amount of time they say and not any longer. Lets hope i get better but here's a couple of pics so you can see the numminess of the brownies.

I havn't posted anything in a while but things have been a bit crazy with this public holiday. It's messed my week up completely but in a good way. Nothing better then a short week i tell you. I thought I'd just share this beautiful save the date that i received from one of my friends who's getting married. I think it's AMA-zing. All you need is LOVE!

Beautiful Dully's

So this weekend i went with my family (about 23 of us) to our farm out near Dullstroom for Christmas in July. On the Saturday the girls decided to mission off to Dullstroom for a whiskey festival or so we thought. Little did we know that when we got there it's not the type of whiskey festival that we were expecting. A couple of families around, a jumping castle need i say more so we hopped in the car and decided to try out the little bars in the town and maybe a little shopping. Below are some pics from the first pub we went to which was awesome, surprisingly serves one of the best long island iced teas I've ever had. nom nom.

After our drinks we missioned off to a couple of the shops and stopped over at another pub along the way. We went into this shop that sold so many different chocs and candy. I was in heaven. The whole store was just too amazing. Brought back so many memories from when i was younger begging my parents to take me there for their gums and koeksisters. I also came across these amazing little wallets called LASAKSAC for only R30. So i decided to buy 3 why i do not know they were just too pretty to be left alone ;-) So much to offer in Dullstroom you just have to go!

Monday morning suprise!

So i get to work this morning with a little suprise given to all of us who work at Get it magazine and Leisure Options. This was given to us because every year Leisure Options does a Best Of Joburg event which is where the readers of Leisure Options vote for the best restaurant, shop, DJ etc. and then there is a huge fancy shmancy event in October. So from now until October it is going to be complete madness in the office with all the organising, so our editor gave us a survival kit as you can see below. With a note saying:

All i want to do is bake!

So for the past couple of days i've been looking at different blogs that contain food content and to much of numminess I have seen. I've been drooling behind my computer for way to long now so i have decided to bake something at least once a week. I'm thinking of doing it every thursday and then bringing people at the office a little treat every friday. This way i don't eat a whole damn cake or batch of brownies by myself. Yes it happens to the best of us ok. Although i havn't baked anything yet and will probably start this venture next week these are on the top of my list. CAUTION! DROOLING MAY OCCUR ;-)

So I am the type of person who loses things ALL the time, or is the only person that happens to have her phone stolen out of  a crowd . Thats why when i got this email from a friend showing me a product she has created i thought i had to share it. What a brilliant idea i tell you. It's called Chogan, and it's basically a beautifully designed chain that links from your cellphone to your handbag. What simple yet brilliant idea. They not in stores yet but will be soon. Here's just a sneek peek.

I have to go

Ok so I've known about this place (Hillhouse) for a while now but then it completely slipped my mind. How i do not know, because it is just looks way to amazing to be forgotten about. It's just by midmar dam and it was an old barn that they converted into a house. So I'll definately be planning a trip asap with good friend, food and wine. Doesn't that just sound flippen amazing. Just take a look at it and i promise you will fall inlove! <3
